The Best of the Best

movieguide

It’s that time when the entertainment industry gears up for awards season, running ads and lobbying for votes in order to be recognized as the year’s best in a variety of categories. In fact, most of us have heard of the SAG awards, the Golden Globes and the Oscars since nearly all news outlets cover their nominees and ensuing controversies. However, for those of us who prefer faith and family-friendly entertainment, we often find our favorites overlooked.

Enter the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards.

In its 24th year, the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards recognizes the best of the best popular movies and television programs that provide audiences with content that inspires. With special categories such as the Epiphany Award, which honors those executives who provide programming that is “wholesome, uplifting and inspiring”, and the Grace Award, which is awarded to an actor or actress for outstanding performance, the MOVIEGUIDE® Awards honors those who lead (and labor in) the faith and family film genre.

This year, Pure Flix Entertainment is honored to have two films of the seven that were nominated for “Most inspiring Movie of 2015”. Our nominees are “Do You Believe?” which illustrates the power of the cross in the lives of twelve different people as their stories intersect, and “Woodlawn”, which is a drama inspired by a true story of football, faith, and racial reconciliation. In addition, Ted McGinley (“Do You Believe”), Sean Astin (“Woodlawn”), and Jon Voight (“Woodlawn”) are nominees for “Most Inspiring Performance for Movies”.
